Senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad made a U-turn and said that it is not true that the Congress will not claim the PM post. He said that the Congress is interested in the PM post.
Former Union Minister said, “ Of course, we are the biggest and oldest political party. If we have to run the government for five years, biggest political party should be given a chance.”
He also said that a Congress PM is essential for the stability of the coalition government. Azad had earlier said that if Congress is not given the position of the PM, it will not fight for it.
He had also said that neither the BJP nor the NDA it leads will be able to form a government after the Lok Sabha elections. On the other hand, a non-BJP, non-NDA government would be formed, he told the media. Azad said that Narendra Modi would not become the Prime Minister for a second time.
